SIALKOT, February 26, 2019: Director General, Intellectual Property Organization (IPO-Pakistan), Mr. Muhammad Irfan Tarar held separate meetings with Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI), Pakistan Sports Goods Manufacture & Exporters Association (PSGMEA) and Sport Industries Development Centre (SIDC).

The first meeting was held with the SCCI delegation, led by its Senior Vice President , Malik Waqas Akram Awan. Second meeting was held with PSGMEA delegation, led by its Chairman, Chaudhary Muhammad Arshad. The third meeting was held with SIDA delegation, led by its Project Director, Mr. Sarwar Hanif.

During the meetings, DG IPO briefed stakeholders that the theme of World IP Day this year is “Reach for Gold: IP and Sports”. In this backdrop, IPO Pakistan has planned to encash the potential opportunity by promotion of national sports goods at broader level. Accordingly, the participants were informed that IPO Pakistan in collaboration with Pakistan Permanent Mission at Geneva would organize an exhibition on Pakistan National Day 23rd March, 2019 at the premises of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) where delegates of over 180 countries will visit the venue.

He further stated that “Walk on IP & national sports”, will be organized on 20th April, 2019 after which a seminar would also be held in Islamabad on 24th April, 2019 to mark the World IP Day.

The delegations ensured their active participation, full support and technical contribution to make the events successful.
